Finally Finished

... A pair of socks. It seems like I knit so many socks that some of them have to make a pair. These have been my knit in the van, while waiting for the kids socks. These are a simple 5 x 2 rib, knit in STR Scottish Highlands. 56 stitches and size 2.75 mm dpns. I need to take another pair of mindless knitting socks out to the van now. Probably the Yarn Love socks.

I have been working on the sock I started last week. It is a little further along than pictured. I really like this yarn. It is ever so soft. Gypsyknits: Sock it 3 ply merino.

And, I started on another fingerless mitt design. These will be a gift for a friend of my eldest daughter. She goes to the "other" High School in town and their colors are orange and brown. So these will work great for her. They are knit in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in orange of course. I don't know if that is the real name, I don't have the ball band anymore, but they are orange.
And look what I got in the mail yesterday from The Loopy Ewe , some Woolly Boully Meanie in the Neapolitan colorway. DD1 saw it, and the silly girl thought it was for her. She is so mistaken. She is trying to talk me into buying another hank, so we can have "matching" socks.... except she wants hers plain vanilla and wants me to put a design on mine. Matching????? I don't think so. Isn't it pretty, and I am not a pink person, but I like this.
Well that is all for today. Another crazy weather day here in south central IN. 70 and the windows are open. What is the weather like where you are?

Woo Hoo! A complete pair of socks! They look great. I love the new sock too, so pretty. And the mitt is wonderful (I have some leftover pink Opal I could use on that one...Mandy will be laying claim to those). I love the new yarn...I'm told I look pretty in pink! Even my feet.

That's one of the nicest pink/brown combos I've ever seen. Very pretty!

The socks are so pretty.

The mitt looks great.

Our weather is the same as yours. This is just too weird. Then they are calling for snow flurries on Thanksgiving. I really wish that it would make up it's mind. My allergies can't take much more of it.

Great socks, and those mitts too!
The weather? Cold, clear, starry night, with Northern Light and a shining moon. But almost at freezing point...

Cool socks, but I LOVE that mitt!

The weather here right now is ... dark. ;-)

Swoon!! I love your socks. Great fingerless gloves too. And yeah isn't Woolly Boully scrumptious? I just fondle mine every now and then because it's soooooo soft. :)

Those fingerless gloves are beautiful, and, of course, so are your socks.

Lovin' all of your yarn too. Isn't the Loopy Ewe wonderful?

Great socks! (All of them!) I love the look of the 5x2 rib. Is that lightweight or medium weight STR? Also love the fingerless mitt. I'm getting ready to cast on your Ariel pattern! And that Wooly Boully yarn is so yummy. I lOVE the colorway!! I'd worry about having those socks stolen if you don't make a matching pair for your daughter!

Woo hoo on finishing those socks! I really love that colourway!!

The fingerless glove looks great. Is that your pattern?

I have a skein/hank of that same Wooly Boully yarn..but it's back home in Canada. I won't get to knit it up for awhile yet though...

Thanks for your email regarding the gauge for the Dancing Tulips pattern. I'm going to have to get size 0 needles I think...my 2.75s will be too big I guess. So I won't be able to knit the pattern up yet :o(. At least I have the pattern though so when I do get some size 0's I'll be able to knit them up!

Was wondering...is it the same for the Victorian Swag pattern? Or is that one a little more interchangeable with the needle size?

Those mitts are really nice.

Matching socks that aren't the same? Oh what our children come up with.

Happy Thanksgiving

It got chilly here today. A cold front is coming in from California and North Utah is probably getting some snow. I wore my Philosopher's wool Fair Isle today out and about. Have a happy Thanksgiving with your family.

The socks look wonderful--you are going to have as many mitt patterns soon as sock patterns. I got my order from the Loopy Ewe--included were some of Monica's patterns! ( and some pretty yarn)

**Sigh** (just picture another knitter as she smacks her forehead and SWEARS she just HAS to get some of those yarns for her very own stash...)

LUV your socks and wow, those mitts are very impressive! Great job!
