Woo Hoo.....

It is finally finished. I hate this sweater, I am so glad it is done. You wouldn't believe the mess I had last night. I started taking the bottom out so I could lengthen it. What a nightmare. This stuff is even harder to rip than it is to knit with. So I got out the scissors and started cutting. I got a few raised eyebrows. DH even commented on the process. And DD was horrified. 2 hours later I had all the fuzz picked out of it and the stitches picked up. The whole time I was working on it, I am mumbling things that are better left unheard. DH says, "why don't you just finish it and be done with it?" Uhmm, I am trying, this stuff is a bear to knit with. DD came downstairs this morning to inspect the damage and was disappointed to find it still not finished. She is lucky she didn't find it in the garbage can after 2 hours of frogging and cutting and picking out fuzz. She is happy it is done, although you wouldn't be able to tell from ANY of the photos I took. I am happy it is done, and I think I am going to celebrate by burning what is left of the ball of yarn from the bad place.

OMG - read it to my DH and we both laughed. It is so Husbandly to say "why don't you just finish it?"

Is that not what I'm attempting to do?????

LOL about your husband. Duhhh I am trying to get it done. I don't know if I would burn that yarn it might stink even worse than having to knit with it. :)

I am glad for you that it is done and now you can move on to more enjoyable knitting.

I'm so glad for you that it is finished. She doesn't look excited at all, you would think with all the fussing she's been doing she would be (tell her slouching is bad for her spine!!!). Now you can get working on all those socks you have to test knit. I hope you're feeling better!

I almost hate to say this, but the sweater is gorgeous! I have to share this with you! Yesterday, I was finishing my merch. job at the FV Walmart. I stopped by the yarn section to see what was new. There were two young girls there surveying the yarn. One had a set of needles to purchase and was trying to choose yarn. "What are you knitting?" I said. "A scarf" the older one said "I'm trying to get her to choose a plain yarn, because it's harder to knit with that stuff and it's her first project." She was pointing to the Homespun! I said, "You definitely want to stay away from that for now, honey. Listen to your sister. That varigated soft yarn is a good choice." I was thinking of you. Besides, I've knit with acrylic boucle before. Pretty, but nasty stuff!

You are such a better mom than I am. She sweater looks wonderful.

I've used homespun once to make a scarf for D3. OMG!!! How people can use it is beyond me! Awful to knit, awful to tink mistakes.

The sweater really looks better than I expected. And the effort you put into it is amazing. I don't know if I could have stuck with it like that. To think is came out so nice and was such a BEAR, well it really should have put a smile on the DD's face, but then ... she's a TEEN!

Yay...it's done and I know someone who will never use homespun again, right!

I have 3 skeins in my stash for a prayer shawl that I got marked down in walmart for $1.00. That is all that yarn is worth!!

happy knittng :)

LoL - I love the sweater, for what it's worth. I caught the expression on your daughter's face first thing. She does not look happy about that. It made me laugh. :D

Hey, I LOVE the ingenius use of your second sink! That was hysterical! Post a pic! There's Foilhat Soap involved....

Wow, a lot of hard work went into that sweater!
Your hubby's comment cracked me up, I would have poked him with a needle.
